Build your own Trangia stove! Here’s how it works:
The start price is based on the original Trangia stove 27-1 UL with a spirit burner. The price is then adjusted based on your choices. Choose freely among all our materials and burners. Take the opportunity to include a kettle and accessories in your own stove design and get a 15% discount on these. I really like Trangia products and I literally use them everyday (I wake up super early and make breakfast outside with my dog in the morning so I don’t wake the rest of my family up) and I recently ordered a custom 27 setup with DS pots and pans and HA windscreen. The DS pots and pans and the little teapot have done well but the windscreen didn’t fair so well and was damaged holding a pot it should have been able to handle in both size and weight from what I read in their documentation before using that pot on the stove. So now I just use my little Triangle pot stand instead of the windscreen that came with the custom 27 setup.
Custom support was super nice and worked with me on what went wrong and we determined that while the 27 is able to hold up to 2.5kg pot it can’t do so unless the pot is narrow enough to fit close to the very inside of inside of the flip out pot holders….so I guess learned. And while the HA windscreen still kinda works I don’t really trust it so I will buy a replacement painted one since it seems like the HA process, while making it more scratch resistant, also made the metal more ductile for some reason with the way my windscreen was damaged.
At the end of the day Trangia makes good equipment and I will keep purchasing their products (maybe buy a new custom 25 setup when I buy a new 27 windscreen) but it would be nice if Trangia put out some guidance on what their equipment can handle since it seems like it’s unfairly built up a reputation for being a bit more robust than it actually is and better documentation is needed so people don’t damage their equipment.
